NIPA selected 29 companies with excellent business performance results in 2022 among about 1,600 supplier companies registered in the AI voucher support project. Thingsspire was recognized for its innovative technology and business feasibility.
Thingsspire's AI voucher business involves engineers-turned-experts in the industrial and energy fields and machine learning developers who majored in artificial intelligence and computers to accurately understand field requirements, develop specialized programs, and evaluate and improve from the user's perspective. This is a successful example of collaboration that completed a high-end artificial intelligence program.
Through the 2022 AI voucher project, a steam trap predictive maintenance system has been developed, making it possible to detect and predict five types of conditions, including live steam leakage and blockage, that occur due to steam trap failure. Through this, steam trap failures, which are easily overlooked in the field, were predicted in a timely manner, contributing to energy savings and carbon neutrality. Interest in manufacturing industries that use steam is growing due to the rapid rise in steam production costs due to the energy crisis.
Meanwhile, the AI voucher business is a government-supported industry operated jointly by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. It supports AI vouchers and provides AI solutions to demand companies that want to apply AI so that they can quickly introduce optimal artificial intelligence. This is a project that provides suppliers who have developed an opportunity to pioneer a new artificial intelligence market. An official from Thingsspire said, “We will provide the optimal AI solution in a timely manner by reflecting the diverse needs of companies seeking to introduce professional AI services in the energy, manufacturing, and logistics fields.”
